So I'm here to say a few things about that, in regards to two things:
1: The hackers
2: The people spreading journals about said hackers.
Now, you might be thinking, "Why are you picking on both? Shouldn't you be picking on one or the other?"
Let me answer that question.
The reason why I am going to pick at BOTH of these matters is because for one, UNLESS the hackers are trying to do some sort of good, like protesting against the government's blasphemy threatening our freedom or something like that, or if they did something so criminal that it HAS to involve the police and news media, they shouldn't be something to be worrying about too much, considering the security on here. Correct me if I am wrong on that though, and back yourself up with facts and sources.
And the people spreading the journals about the hackers? They're not doing themselves any better. They think they're doing good, but really, all they're doing is making other people PANIC. This HAS to stop.
So what can I do to protect myself and suggest others to protect themselves?
If there is a hacker, simply report it to the staff or the police, and make sure your password is long and strong. I recently just changed my password just to take more precaution and protection of my account. I usually have a list of passwords in my memory, but if you're not like me, keep a list of passwords written down somewhere that you can use. Make sure that they are at least, at the minimum, eight to ten characters long, and at the most, 20.
Why should I not spread the information to other people? Shouldn't they know about it, too?
Absolutely not. By spreading that information, you are scaring other people, and like the background characters in Spongebob, panic to the point where they are flipping tables, beating their chests like monkeys, and screeching like banshees. The only people who you should tell the information to are the dA staff. I get it, they can be crap at times, but please, for the love of god, do NOT make other people panic by spreading journals about hackers. PLEASE.
